Eclectic Urban Kitchen Design

Design Team Brings Modern Elegance to Row House Remodel

For this space, the client wanted a crossover look that would showcase her attraction to traditional elements but would also complement her eclectic flare. The Riverhead Building Supply Kitchen Design team recommended Tedd Wood Cabinetry’s semi-custom line, Landmark for this urban kitchen design. The Monticello door style, with a reverse raised center panel, provides a clean look in a beaded inset frame. The island was done in a complementary color, Slate, to accent the paint color of the custom mouldings that were created for this space by Riverhead Building Supply’s custom millwork shop.

For the second story of the home, the client wanted a floor that would withstand wear and tear, and that had a reclaimed look and feel.   Our design team recommended Heritage Wide Plank Flooring in 10” Country White Oak.  The boards have character with knots and occasional surface cracks, lending instant charm. This is a popular flooring choice for an urban kitchen design, and for those who want a new floor, but like the look and character of a reclaimed floor.  The flooring was created in the Heritage Wide Plank Flooring & Millwork shop in Calverton, NY, and is available at all Riverhead Building Supply locations.

Keeping the tradition of the row house, Simpson Ovation paneled interior doors were brought to life with Emtek crystal interior door knobs. This home is located in a trendy and busy neighborhood in Queens, NY.  The client chose the bronze reflective glass option by Marvin Windows on all of her exterior doors and windows for a unique and beautiful way to gain privacy. The reflective properties draw your eye to the home as you pass by.

This project is a clear example that there are truly no limits to your kitchen design. Gather your ideas in a folder, online, or simply on your phone and bring to your first consultation appointment to start a conversation with one of Riverhead Building Supply’s Kitchen Designers. The thought of starting may seem daunting, but you’ll love the finished results for years to come.
